Oh my god; Little did I know that I had been struggling to go paperless with the scanning portion of my Brother MFC-L8850CDW combo printer/scanner for the past few years. Brother can scan, even duplex scanning and even legal-size scanning. It can also keep crashing or failing constantly and just annoy you if you try to use it for more than an hour. I finally got fed up with it and decided there must be something better. I looked at several options from various big names, except for Brother because I'm so mad at their junk products. I almost chose the Raven product because I found it very interesting with its connectivity options, since sometimes they would come in handy to me. However, the downside of the Raven scanner is that you have to use the Pro model to get Direct Connect TWAIN driver support and although it has a network connection it cannot function as a network scanner other than being able to scan images to be placed in SMB share (Windows file server/NAS device). The only nice thing about my Brother printer is that my Mac can use it to scan over the network. Anyway, since this was my first experience of custom document scanning, I decided I'm not ready, getting the price close to $1,000, and most network scanners are fast approaching that price. So my research turned to USB models from Epson, Fujitsu, etc. This option struck us as good value for money, no glitches, relatively good speed, reliable drivers (and available drivers for macOS Catalina, the current version at the time of creation). I decided to give it a try and have nothing but good things to say. I installed the Epson drivers before connecting, but intentionally didn't install the Epson scan utilities because I use a third-party PDFScanner program that can straighten (straighten), duplex, virtual duplex, OCR, and then save as PDF . All " This is your reference point, you will be amazed if everything works. I just finished four hours of scanning and emptied my entire filing cabinet. It would be a multi-day operation to see so much paper from Brother. Anyway, happy customer. This is your reference point, you will be amazed when everything works.
