For many years I have used a dining table as my tailoring space, but knowing I was taking on a large tailoring project (full length men's coat) I chose I I needed something more "portable" for the project, so I bought a craft board for pinning and marking parts of the project more than cutting. However, once I received the board and started laying it out, everything worked great. When folded, it is slightly longer than the table, which is very convenient. It also allowed for attachment without worrying about scratching the countertop. Once the cut was complete I was able to fold the board in half and use it in my dressing room as an extra "workspace". Too bad I didn't get one a year ago. Board grids would be useful for quilters (although I'm not alone).
