These blades are curved to conform to the surface of the windshield profile. It is very important to consider the pressure exerted by the wiper arm. Both of our cars are over 10 years old and we live in the North East where the winter weather causes the wipers to flex a bit. When I first installed the Blades there was a stripe in front of the driver's side windshield on both cases which was annoying and was the reason for the purchase. I then searched online for the cause and most often it was snow and ice distorting the orientation of the window. So I bent each one around my hand with newspaper and used water pump pliers to bend them down slightly to put more pressure on the window. Both machines are perfect, and these wipers add up to a much better clean than their predecessors. It remains to be seen if they last as long as the others, maybe three years, but if they last two years I'll be happy. It's been a few months so far so good.
