Review on HyperX Cloud II, gun metal by Gabriela Antoniak ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Satisfied with the purchase one hundred percent, I recommend the product for everyone.

Reading the evaluations finally convinced me to upgrade from my old headset to the HyperX Cloud II. I was concerned that I may have found a cheaper alternative to the headset because of its high price. My concerns were quickly put to rest upon opening the packaging and discovering the high quality construction, sturdy metal in the headband, removable ear pads, cables, adapters, and even a carrying case. The quality of the thing I just purchased is immediately apparent. I plugged it into the computer's USB port (an x2 mini-jack adaptor is included) and the headset was recognized without any trouble. Even though I am not a huge music buff and am not very knowledgeable about sound, I found that I enjoyed listening with this headset. Good lows and no shrill highs like on other less expensive headphones. I walked over to the mic. The noise-cancelling nozzle on the microphone likely accounts for why this headset's audio is subdued in comparison to my previous one. On the other hand, the capture of background noise deteriorated dramatically. Thus, it has more benefits than drawbacks. The final test was how easy it was to put on and take off. After a two-hour World of Warcraft raid, my ears and brain are feeling terrific. The old headset may have been warm, but it hurt like steel pincers clamping down on my skull for the same amount of time. The level of wearability is unparalleled. In other words, I believe that the investment has more than compensated for itself. Consider HyperX Cloud II if you're in the market for a high-quality gaming headset with great sound and a microphone that you can wear for several hours without discomfort.

Pros
  • The overall construction and quality of the headset are superb. Nice sound quality. Superior microphone with noise suppression. Comfortably rests atop the head. The box contains a plethora of extras.
Cons
  • Microphone has become slightly more "deaf" due to noise cancellation. Conspicuously high cost.
