My previous GE microwave was 15 years old and while it looked good, it broke and it was time for a new one; I can't complain about fifteen years of service! I have to say that although the new one is very similar to my previous one, the first time I used it I noticed that it's not as well built as the old one. It's just not very"firm". It's "lightweight" and makes all sorts of crazy noises as it runs, including starting and stopping. In addition, it sounds "empty" and somehow "tinny" when opening and closing the door. In fact, it's so light that it slides across the tabletop when I push the buttons. I need to get some sort of "captures" for the base. I don't expect it to last as long as my previous GE, but overall I don't expect quality anymore. Otherwise, if you just want to warm up your coffee or leftover plate, this will surely get the job done.
