Bought this as a replacement for my "cheap everyday knife" not my main chef's knife. Other than that, this is a good all-purpose knife. Bones, drumsticks, chop, peel, whatever. The textured grip is a bit odd in my opinion, but for the price and what I'm using it for, it works well. I would never use it as a main/chef's only knife as its rocking action isn't for me, the forehand mention of the handle and blade strength is a bit more than I'd like. But then again, this works well as a "cheap routine" little odds meter. If you need a replacement chef's knife that can handle tougher jobs, or you're buying a chef's knife for someone who doesn't care much about knives in the kitchen, this would be a great purchase. Again, this isn't a bad blade, there are just better options, and for what I intended to use it for, it does the job perfectly.
