Revainrating 5 out of 5

I did some research, cut the cord and it was well worth spending the extra money on the right stuff.

First things first. After some serious research (as I suggest) I decided to cut the cable and I was very pleased. Before you buy, you need to know what's around you. SPECIAL NOTE: I received antennas, not rotating antenna. because there are 4 TVs in the house and I didn't want to argue with my wife and three kids about which way the antenna would point. So I took fixed antennas and pointed them at all the transmission towers. Problem solved. This may or may not work for you. 1) Your geographic location as the antennas are out of sight. So if you are next to a mountain or group of trees and blocking buildings, your achievement will not be as advertised. 2) Stay away from power lines. For example, if there is an antenna within 200 feet of the antenna and you have to point at power lines, your reception will not be as advertised. 3) Check the distance from the transmission tower to you and look at the obstacles that are in between. . I used the direct antenna map on their website. Very useful and very good site. For once everything looked fine. I bought that. I decided to go all out and get it right the first time. The parts were paid for within 3 months of the cable being cut. 1x 8-Element Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Butterfly Antenna 1x Clearview Antenna 21x Reverse Splitter 1x Channel Master CM3414 4-Port Distribution Amplifier 1x Mast (then had to replace it because it bent in storms and I replaced the 1" diameter tube .I assume the chimney falls first before the mast bends again.) So watch out, grab a 1" pipe to save yourself the climb. The DB8e was in good condition when delivered. built (even after it exploded and hit the roof pretty hard, it held its ground). The instructions were clear and I was able to assemble it in about 30 minutes (I'm in no hurry). DB8e worked as advertised. I'm on a high ground in a land without obstacles. The antenna itself gave me about 50 channels. The furthest cell tower from me was 82 miles away. I got about 70% approval. So I was happy and knew that adding an amp would not disappoint. After adding Clearview 2 and Amplifier. I was more than satisfied. I had the 82 mile tower at 98% and got all channels from all the towers around Ellicot City, Maryland. I also received all channels from all towers in Philadelphia, PA (40 miles). I also received all channels from all towers in York, PA (50 miles). The end result was 81 channels. I'm happy with it, happy with the study, happy with the results.
