Hair accessories don't hold hair on hair

I'm used to these hair clips from Goody which I think are a bit more textured but I gave these a try. Unfortunately (for me) they are too "smooth". They slide right out of my hair. I can withdraw a small amount or a large amount - it doesn't matter - they just don't stop there. Let's go back to Goody. They look really strong, beautiful and shiny. But they just don't work for me.
