Review on 400mm (15.75 Inches) TR8X2 Thread Printing Machine by Larry Morris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great update to improve Z-axis stability on FDM printers.

My Ender 3 Pro came with a T8-8mm lead screw. These are T8 2mm lead screws which means you have more steps to move 1mm up or down and there should be less backlash as well as better torque meaning you have extra mass on the X -axis without compromising speed (in any case, movements along the Z-axis should not have high speed). The standard lead screws for the Ender 3 are 365mm long and slightly longer to allow for longer verticals. My direct drive Ender 3 Pro now has a maximum Z-height of nearly 300mm despite the stepper motor getting in the way.

Pros
  • Lead Screw Length: 400mm, Thread Pitch: 8mm
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
