Bought this product because of leg swelling. I've been using cotton based compression stockings (ankle to knee) for a year now and they work great. Material 80% cotton, 13% elastane and 7% nylon. They are cool in summer and comfortable for long time wearing. The problem is I have to get them from my doctor who cuts the sleeves from the long roll. I need my own source of compression stockings. I researched and designed the Physix Sport calf compression sleeves for men and women (20-30mmHg). I never had to wear them. Why? Here's why. The material is actually shorter than my ankle to knee and I have the shorter side at 5ft 9" with an inseam of only 29". The Physix product should have been perfect for me. I measured them on my foot because I couldn't put them on. The color changed significantly when washed - I filled the sink with blue paint. I have used ERA for delicate fabrics as a detergent and cold water and only hand washed in the sink. Then I just wrung them out, didn't wring them out according to the instructions - When they dried they were stiff, not soft like my cotton sleeves which I wash the same way - BIG problem. The top and bottom of the sleeves are cuffed and sewn on as expected. But the product could NOT fit my legs, and my legs are small (only size 9 for men) and not swollen at all - only leg swells. I just took off the cotton sleeves so my legs and feet don't get swollen. I pulled heavily on the Physix product and the knuckle didn't go through my legs no matter what I did: bending them, spreading my fingers wider to accommodate them, etc. As a result, the Physix sleeve is poorly designed. Although they are made of nylon and spandex, which should work, the sleeves are not shaped properly and should not be worn. I will buy the cuff my doctor gave me, the Surgigrip sleeves. I don't have a choice yet. I didn't return the product because I threw away all the packaging - mine is bad - and just ate up the cost. I have NO intention of ever buying a Physix product again.
