Review on ๐ŸŽง Turtle Beach DXL1 Gaming Headset - Dolby Surround Sound - Xbox 360 by Jerry Leon

Excellent Installation - Headsets

Installation was very easy; a USB cable and an optical cable. Sound adjustment is done by pressing a button; There's no visual indicator, you have to play something through the headphones and press the button until you like the sound profile. The headphone cable is very long, which can be a good or bad thing. Sitting next to an Xbox means you have a lot of extra cable, but the length gives you plenty of room. The headphones themselves are comfortable even with glasses. The ear pads are large and there is a soft cushion on the strap that sits on top of the head. The built-in volume control is a bit large, but far enough away from the cable that you can rest it on your lap or on a table. It includes game and chat volume controls, as well as a microphone on/off switch. The sound quality is excellent. The simulated surround sound might not be as good as my real 5.1 surround sound setup, but with the speakers so close to my ears I actually hear a lot more (like footsteps in COD). It definitely helped my results and I can turn on the sound when my wife is sleeping without disturbing her. If you have your own headphones that you like better, you can use those as well, although you don't have a microphone. The only downside is that an additional cable is required to use the microphone. It should be moved from the built-in controller to the Xbox controller. That's not Turtle Beach's fault, it's how the Xbox renders the voice in the game. It's not a big deal but adds another cable to get in the way. If I could bet 4.5 I would.

Cons
