This DVD player was very easy to connect, which the elderly will appreciate! I was surprised that the plug fitted perfectly into the American socket without an additional plug! A perfectly fitting HDMI cable is supplied. The picture is very good and quite clear. When you press the button to open the drawer - there is a knot - it opens immediately. The only weird question is why isn't there a MENU KEY OR RETURN FUNCTION? The screen display is a bit off but I played around with it anyway because sometimes late at night I like to use closed captioning for the hard of hearing because I can't turn the TV up too loud because the older folks go downstairs to bed early! I am very happy with this purchase as I love British and Swedish TV series as well as my SHERLOCK HOLMES!
