Mixed feelings - comfortable but seems to have some quality control issues

Regarding the fit, my US size is usually an 8 or 8 1/2 and I went for an 8 1/2. I usually compare US size to Euro size (I need size 39) to understand what to buy. For them, 8 1/2 equals 39 euros. I need shoes with a fairly wide toe and a narrow heel. The web in front of them is flexible enough for them to work. I thought they had poor arch support with the original insole, but I still put Superfeet insoles in most of my shoes. There are some issues with the quality of real shoes that bother me a bit. The brown toe box is slightly curved and the mesh at the top front of the right boot appears crumpled. It just feels and looks a little wider than the left shoe (I guess I'm lucky my right foot is wider than my left). The lace in my right shoe was a full 6 inches shorter than the one in my left. I'm not entirely sure how you can screw this up, but I took them out and measured them after noticing that the left temple seemed much larger than the right side. I swapped out the longer lace on the left side for a wider leg and it looks ok now, but wasn't originally intended to be. My guess is that maybe it is due to quality control which is normal at Reebok. Of course, I noticed all this after slandering her on the street. I don't plan on running in them and my size was cheap enough ($37) so I'm keeping them anyway. If you plan on running in it, or if your size costs more than mine, check for problems before going out with it. I would fret about quality issues if I paid full price for it. I'll come back and update if they fall apart very quickly.
