Review on Earpads Compatible With Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE Gaming Headset - Memory Foam Earcups - PU Ear Cushions (White) by Julie Lee

Completely changes the sound of Virtuoso. Not for the best

I ordered these because one of the ear pads that came with my Virtuoso headset broke off the plastic clips. And of course, Corsair doesn't sell aftermarket parts. They arrived and were easy to apply and matched the mounting holes perfectly. They appear to be well made so I don't think there is a problem with the quality of the product. My problem is related to the dimensions of the pad itself. The overall inner diameter of the earcups is smaller than the original Virtuoso earcups and therefore fits the ear better than the factory earcups. I work from home and spend a lot of time on the phone with this headset. 8+ hours of this and my ears are dying of relief. Another problem is that they are obviously THICKER than the originals. While this seems like a good idea and that more padding = more comfort, I found that when I switched to these pads I lost about 50% of the bass from the sound on them. So listening to music became a bit uncomfortable. I thought I had gone insane and somehow changed my mind. So I went back to the originals to test, and of course the bass is back. Therefore, the Virtuoso's bass response depends on the speaker's distance from your ears, and thicker pads increase that distance, resulting in reduced bass response. In general, the product seems to be good in terms of production technology and for this reason we cannot blame it. He just completely changes the headset to a version I just don't like. I have since found another manufacturer at Revain and ordered their version of the replacement ear pads. They are much closer to the original qualities of the virtuoso, and as a result, my original experience comes back.
