Whoever came up with this product was great. The ability to set numbers and add pictures/names, making it easier for those with memory issues, is a godsend. BUT they made the device cheaper. About half the calls I make and receive from my mother are garbled because she can't hear the callers. It's not a hearing problem on your part. At first we thought it was user error as she suffers from dementia. When I then approached her to teach her how to use it, I discovered it was a broken phone. We thought it might be a loose cable issue and replaced it to no avail. Most of the time we pick up the phone, there is no dial tone. It is necessary to keep pressing the end key until the connection is finally established. That's too much troubleshooting for an older person with dementia. A quality phone will have a dial tone and the ability to talk and hear EVERY time you pick up the handset. This has caused my mother and us great concern as we cannot communicate with her directly without forcing the staff at her facility to stop their work and try to fix the phone. Very disappointed with this lemon. I will try to return.
