The cleanser/shampoo has a shea butter scent and stays on the skin for a long time after use. I wouldn't call it a mild detergent. It removes oil and grease very well and leaves the skin drier than expected. At the time of writing this review, the product is selling for $9.98 per 10 ounces, which equates to $1 per ounce. Most commercial brands (Johnson, Aveeno, Burt's Bee) are cheaper, with the exception of Honest. Honest is gentler than this cleansing gel, but it will do the job just fine.
