I bought this to protect large as new off white love seat from two 3 months old kittens. To date for the price it's satisfactory. The front could be longer as it protects cushions but not skirt. I also had to remove back cushions to get a fit. I wasn't able to use the elastic strap that goes in the back it wasn't long enough. It's satisfactory for now while cats are tiny. I would think for a dog or dogs particularly large ones this would not stay in place. A full cover would be more sensible. I can't comment on liquid repellent ability nor long term wear or washability. It certainly is better than just an old sheet and you are never going to find a perfect fit. It's reversible which is a good feature.
