Review on Husky Liners - 89311: Floor Mats for 1998-2010 Volkswagen Beetle, Golf, Jetta - Classic Style, Front & 2nd Seat - Black by William Rothstein

This is the second flooring I have tried on my 2005 Jetta. The first set was made by a well-known major American flooring supplier and was not a bespoke product but the most suitable all-rounder. I was *not* happy with how they looked (mainly due to the extremely poor fit) and sent them back. Husky earbuds fit fairly well, but not perfectly. They leave about 1/4 inch of clearance around the perimeter in several places so that mud or other liquids have an entry point to get under the mat. Once the liquid is under the mat, I suspect it doesn't come out easily and can lead to more corrosion than typical carpeting. But overall the fit is quite acceptable, better than I expected. Kudos to the huskies for being so close (but not perfect here either. I left the floor mats in my car for a week hoping any warping from shipping would work out, but the fit stayed the whole Time over same week without closing 1/4" gaps). Another reviewer pointed out that the spikes on the back were sharp. My thumb will confirm this by getting a good nudge when I remove the mats from the Shipping container will take - wow! I would be worried about the interior of my car if others removed the mats at a car wash for example.All you need is a minimum wage car wash that doesn't quite pay attention to possibly the car seat material too tearing or pulling out or scratching the dashboard, headliner or exterior paint. As I wash my car at the local car wash sometimes, this worries me. The look is , how should I put it, something industrial. What if that's what you're looking for, excellent. Unfortunately, the look is not typical of my Jetta, which is rather sporty, as is typical for Audi. If I were driving an F-350 the floor mats would be perfect for this purpose. As for the family sedan, you'll have to judge for yourself. I think my soil experiments are over. OEM carpet floor mats will be replaced with OEM carpet floor mats at end of life after 150,000 miles.
