Review on ๐Ÿšด Giro Vanquish MIPS: The Ultimate Aero Helmet for Adult Cyclists by Corey Singh

Good job with glasses!

I bought a Vanquish helmet to replace my old Bontrager Quantum helmet (with MFG date 2012). The reason for this is that the older Quantum didn't have MIPS and just felt like it was sitting too high on the head and the adjustment strap that surrounds everything is closer to the ears (hard to explain). Both helmets are the same size medium. I wear Oakleys and RayBans. The RayBan glasses are of the Transition type, while the Oakley are not. The detachable visors came with the purchase of a new helmet. I LOVE HER. I can slip my regular Oakley sneakers under the Vanquish shield and feel like I'm not wearing them. I don't like the Transition glasses when cycling as they take too long to adjust to the light. With the shield, I can swap or take it off as needed. Magnetic mounts work great. The weight is slightly heavier than the Bontrager, 12.7 vs. 10.8 ounces. But I expected it with MIPS and screen (1.8 oz alone). You can't feel it when you wear it. Not sure about the cooling yet as I haven't ridden the new one yet. There are fewer vents, but they are larger. They also direct air back and forth instead of just being spaced apart. The MIPS system keeps everything afloat anyway, while the old system was right on its head. This helps with air movement. Adjustment is easy and the straps are thinner and less obtrusive than on the Bontrager helmet. And the color/lens looks perfect. Will be updated if necessary.
