My night mouth guard needs to be soaked in denture cleaner every morning after use. This Aubing retainer cleaner features a 'new formula' that is safer and cleaner. I've been using it for about a week now and it seems to be working fine. I can't judge if it's better than the one I've used. I got this from our local Kroger and the inner packaging is the same as the denture cleaners that are available at Walmart and other stores in boxes with their names on the box. It features 99.9% removal of "odor-causing bacteria". Is it better? The ingredients for this and Obing are similar, with sodium bicarbonate and citric acid being the first two ingredients listed for both. Obing also has PEG-150, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Benzoate. For generic drugs, these last ingredients are further down the long list. Both are designed so that when you throw the pill into the container of water along with the fixative, the bubbles will turn the water blue. After about 15 minutes, the blue dye will begin to fade. So it's a kind of blue alka-seltzer for dentures. The real difference between an Aubing and an all-purpose cleaner is the price. It costs $3 for 90 tablets which equals $4 for 120. Obing is much more expensive.
