I have tested this with 3 different Dell laptops and they all work great including the power supply. Even laptops that come with an AC adapter over 60W will work with 60W of power from the docking station, although the battery may charge more slowly. Dell laptops have a BIOS setting that disables the boot warning that you are using the wrong power supply. can burn down your house. The device itself works great too. Interestingly, it runs cooler than some of my USB 3 hubs. I've tested HDMI up to 4K and it works great. The audio output is quiet and clear. The USB ports and the Ethernet port also work perfectly. I've used it mostly with Linux Mint and a bit with Windows 10. Everything was recognized automatically. The only harmless oddity is that Linux also indicates the presence of a SPDIF digital audio output, which it does. I suspect the sound chip in the docking station has the capability, but the plugable doesn't provide an output. A note. As expected, the included USB-C cable works as expected, but if you want to use a different cable, make sure it's a Gen 2 data cable and not just a charging cable, otherwise it'll just charge. You won't have an HDMI output. The supplied cable is quite stiff and short. I bought a more flexible one from Cable Matters which also works great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L0F6AJI/
