I researched iced tea makers before purchasing this one. Here are the pros and cons of my Takeya ice maker: Pros: Fun colors Easy to follow instructions Can put both tea and fruit in the tea infuser to make your own fruit flavored water or tea blend. Cons: If you're about to pour yourself a nice glass of tea, don't forget to pour it OVER the sink. Poor lid/spout design was the cause of many spills. The thread is not "sequential" so it can cause a mess. The tea strainer itself is a mess when you try to get all the tea out of it. Just when you think you've shaken it all out, there's still something in there. maybe 2 1/2 - 3 qt. I am an avid tea lover. I drink it all day, every day. Doing this in Takeya is quite a hassle. I love drinking it. I can't say I like doing it. But I drink because I like to drink.
