I am very disappointed with this device. As a small business, we rely on our mixers for the important production of bread and pasta. After years of working with the KitchenAid Master, we needed something bigger, more reliable that would help us increase production. We did a lot of research and bought it in February this year. He died two weeks ago in the middle of production. We were sent a new model and it died after 4 uses. This is definitely not a device intended for commercial use. First, while the information sheet available online states that the attachment hub will fit all KitchenAid attachments, after calling KitchenAid after the second unit failed, I discovered that you are not actually supposed to be using the standard KitchenAid attachments with the unit . In addition, no commercial investments are available. The person on the phone said that this could be the cause of the device's death. Although I was told that the devices came with a sticker saying the standard attachments cannot be used, we didn't have one and this contradicts the information provided on the web and repeated in the instruction manual. We certainly would have looked for a different and more suitable unit if there hadn't been information on the internet that the unit would fit all KitchenAid attachments before we spent $700 + tax. In addition, the device for baking bread comes with a sticker that says not to use the dough hook above level 2. Speaking to a KitchenAid representative on the phone, I also learned that you shouldn't knead the dough on speed 2 for more than 3-7 minutes and that you shouldn't stop the machine in the middle of a batch. Again, if this information was more open, I would have found a device that better suited our needs. However, this is not available in the product description, user manual or website. The usage specifications don't match the commercial terms and frankly, KitchenAid misrepresents the capabilities of the appliance. I sincerely urge people considering this device to consider another option. This unit is definitely not suitable for commercial use and KitchenAid still seems to decide on a model. After one of them died in 7 months and one in less than a week, I regret buying this device. Somehow there is still an Artisan model that still works, but the commercial models are clever in how they present the device. Also, as a restaurant, I'm apprehensive about the online review culture. However, given the resistance and misrepresentation, I felt this was the best way to convey this genuine and entirely legitimate concern to Kitchenaid in my first online review.
