We have a family plan at our local gym so we deal with a lot of bandages! I installed this on an Ikea bookshelf in my home office and it worked like a charm because I didn't look for wall studs and added more holes in the walls. There is a slot in the winding bar that you insert the bandages into and this will hold the bandages firmly in place as you wind them up. My gym has a version that has no slot and is practically unusable. I don't know if this is intentional or if it's a bug, but it's literally unusable. no one in the gym uses it! Although the slot for the rod required careful flaring with a Phillips screwdriver, it was easy to assemble and saved a lot of time and effort in winding.
