Retail use for office electronics

Thing doesn't work. I've already returned 2 that don't work. I only bought it because some said it worked right away. It is not. I had one a while back that did exactly what I wanted which was to scan an item, show the customer and cashier the scanned item in a square system with the same information, then go to the next line and ready to scan to be the next article. It seemed to me that it should work on the most common system, which is retail. So why did the last one work right away, but this one didn't. I will return it again (3 times) on Monday. We are very disappointed with that. In addition, we are open 7 days a week.
