This product was carefully packed in 3 boxes and many layers of bubble wrap. The bowl itself had a few bubbles and defects on the glass surface. However, this is to be expected as it is hand blown. However, this raises some questions about structural integrity as I will be filling it with water. There was a little sediment left, but it can be easily removed with Vindex. The glass is quite thick, 5mm. I had to sand the edge because I'm turning it into an aquarium and don't want to cut myself every time I go for maintenance. If you know where you're buying from, it's made in China. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
