We bought this suit large for our daughter on purpose so that she could get more time out of it and are able to roll up the sleeves and pants to make it fit. It is baggy in the torso right now but she seems comfortable and was very happy in it while at beach. She is an average height 1 1/2 year old (and just around 25 pounds) and based on the extra room it looks like the 2T will work for next summer too. Also, we are avoiding sunscreen as much as possible and with a hat she was well-covered in this suit. Lastly, she was sitting in the sand (dry and wet) quite a bit and once it dried the sand just shook out of the fabric.
