It could be thicker but it would be too hot. It's not visible at all. I liked it because the fur bun matches my ash blonde highlights on my brown hair. Very cute on my blue eyed girl. Gray is a little closer to blue/purple, not obvious, but you know gray can be more of a dark grey/brown or pink with too much red. Love this hat it was affordable and fun to match little one and look cute in winter and fall. Everything I wanted!
