Most sound modules currently sold have battery holders on the circuit board. I wanted a sound module that could be powered via a USB connection. At this scale, identifying and avoiding the tracks without destroying the device would be a challenge. With this WayinTop module you just need to take an extra USB connector, identify two power pads (USB cables have both power and data lines connected to them (if in doubt, a simple check with a multimeter) and then connect and solder to the battery leads. Sounds more complicated than it is. The sound quality isn't very good. Better than one of those pesky greeting cards and about as much as many toys. Nothing is easier than uploading sounds if you do a little desoldering and subminiature components, there are multiple rendering options as shown in the diagram image above.
