JICO specializes in the production of replacement styluses for special pickups, including many different Shure models, when Shure stops making them. You may order these directly or through resellers from time to time. For a while it seemed like JICO would only offer white label needles in limited quantities, but lately they seem to be (currently) available on a regular basis. At the moment, Turntable Lab is offering them for sale through Revain with Prime shipping, which is much faster than ordering them directly from JICO. JICO dropshipping means waiting for them to be made and shipped from Japan, even though you can get them for about $10 less. how do they sound I had the opportunity to compare an original Shure white label stylus that only lasted a few hours to a JICO stylus and the difference is minimal. The JICO needle is slightly brighter at high frequencies, if you listen to them through good speakers or headphones with very good recording. However, with daily listening, you probably won't notice that much of a difference. The creep and crack resistance is excellent; I've noticed no difference in returning and scratching with the same 2.5g tracking force. The fit and finish is identical, fits snugly in the cartridge with the same force as the OEM needle, sits flush with no offset (see photo). ). All in all, the JICO needle is an excellent replacement for the original Whitelabel part. Glad to know they existed, I bought them so I wouldn't have to worry about needles for at least the next few years.
