Solving the common problem of grilling in low light or darkness, these tongs do not allow you to adequately view the cooking status - EXCEPT the video in the description is not for this product. The video is for a completely different model from the same brand, the ChefGiant Tonglite spatula and retractable tongs. This product is a ChefGiant barbecue tong. I reduced my star rating by one star for this bug. Otherwise the pliers themselves would have received a 5 star rating. This is not the first time I have complained about incorrect, misleading or confusing product descriptions. Again, I suggest that some sellers pay more attention to the accuracy of their product descriptions, since descriptions, photos, and videos are the primary means by which buyers determine whether or not they need a product. However, these are wonderful pliers. They are solidly built and the stainless steel tongs feel premium. They are fairly light, weighing 10 ounces. Tweezers can be locked with a button and easily released by pressing the handles (SEE VIDEO). They are the ideal length for working with very hot coals or flames. The end of the tongs that holds the food is oddly shaped, which should provide a better grip than regular tongs, especially for chicken, ribs, or steaks. For some foods, like fish or hamburgers, it is better to use a spatula. The ends of the pliers (where the teeth are) are 2 1/4" wide and 3" long (SEE PHOTO). The metal part of the pliers is very firmly attached to a hard plastic base. (SEE PHOTO)The handles are made of soft, rubberized material that flexes slightly when squeezed, providing a soft grip.The best thing about these pliers is the flashlight. The flashlight is bright enough. It's easy to remove and put back in the holder, but it fits tight and won't fall out. Runs on AA batteries (included). (SEE PHOTOS) Overall these are quality tongs that work well and make night time grilling easier. However, next time I might consider a model that is mistakenly shown in the video as it combines a spatula and tongs for more versatility.
