Review on Vintage Buckle with Horween Leather by John Stefko

Worth it: Watch

I bought this for my husband as he is a bit obsessed with watches. He had some thoughts. The spring bar holes are slightly loose which sometimes causes installation difficulties as they allow the spring bar to move. Otherwise, the quick-release rods are great and a replacement is included. The overall quality of the leather appears to be good. This is an unlined strap which is on the thinner side (hairs over 2mm when single layer and 2.75mm when folded in half) so I don't expect it to hold up to prolonged use, but for a fashionable everyday strap it should be perfect. Big. The leather is immediately soft and supple and does not need to be broken in. It scratches easily, so I generally use it with a business casual/smart casual outfit rather than as an all-purpose whisk belt. The shorter design is odd and if the color changes with wear as advertised, the small part where there is a layer shows a toss as this is the most flexible part of the belt. The buckle is strong, feels solid, doesn't rattle or move. Honestly, this is one of the best performances from a sub-$30 watch strap I've seen.
