Bought for a 2015 13" MacBook Pro that showed 'no hardware installed' for WiFi. This means there is a problem with the airport card. I replaced the card, reset the SMC and NVRAM and had the same issue which meant a problem/damage to the airport connector. Not wanting to waste time desoldering and looking for a new solder connector I decided on a cheaper and less labor intensive method and ordered one of these. The WF2180 AC600 is exactly the version I ordered based on the size and reviews. For macOS Mojave the adapter will not work without drivers installed. As I didn't have internet I had to download the drivers from a separate computer and transfer them to my MacBook via USB stick and install the drivers like this. The latest drivers (for MacOS 10.13) work fine with Mojave. After de During installation you will get a message that the app needs to be updated by the developer to support macOS 12.14 (Mojave), but you can ignore this and continue. After that, a new wireless network icon will appear in the top taskbar next to the macOS Wi-Fi setting. Click here and select the network you want to connect to and enter a password if required. You must connect through this interface and not through the built-in WiFi settings. The performance does not come close to the built-in WLAN module, but it is still decent. On my 2016 MacBook 15 I get around 70Mbps on a 2.4G connection and 130Mbps on a 5G connection. With the WF2180, I'm seeing around 40Mbps on 2.4G and 100Mbps on 5G. Even if your workflow depends on accessing large files over a network connection or wirelessly transferring files to and from your device, it would I have no hesitation in recommending this if you need a wireless USB adapter for your Mac. Overall it's been great with the time I've had it (1 week). There were no problems with packet loss and connection. As far as I can tell, the MacBook's WiFi range doesn't change, at least in my home.
