Absolutely suitable for this purpose.
This is a standard, run-of-the-mill cast iron grill and pre-seasoned pan. It is suitable for use with gas, electricity or open fire. Totally worth the price - heats evenly (if you even know how to work with cast iron you know you need to let it warm up a bit before using it on low-medium heat), holds heat well and seasoning works well enough, especially if you add some veggies or butter right before cooking. Don't be fooled by other comments or low ratings; This frying pan is just wonderful for what it was designed for.
