Review on Habitrail 62635 OVO Club Trainer by Ruby Moya

I was a bit disappointed when it arrived. The thin plastic that combines the white and blue hard parts is too thin. The slightest weight and it falls apart. If a hamster gets in, it has a slit at the top, making it a great place to chew and escape - or it could just open up and fall over - not good! We fixed this by pulling them apart, applying superglue to the entire seam, and gluing them together. Since these parts aren't usually taken apart for cleaning, this seems like a great and easy solution. We hooked it up to the cage with no problem and our hamster was quick to check it out. She walked in it quite a bit the first night. On the second night she decided this was the perfect place to nest. The entire floor outside the cage was in a mess! She brought in all her food, most of which then fell onto the bottom tray, and took all her fluffy bedding and packed it up. If we delete something, she just fills it in again. Oh, she's still kind of running around in it - sheets and all - resulting in the food getting spilled (the little tray just doesn't hold enough) and the bedding being pushed out and pushed around everywhere. She seems very happy. I'm not very. The wheel comes with a black rubber band that you can use to seal it BUT the chemical smell is awful and I don't want her inhaling it. There will also be no ventilation and I don't want that either. So it remains open. About four times a day I remove the small white tray and dump the food back into the cage. And we put a wastebasket under the wheel to collect the excess. She seems to love it so much, like her little nest, that I just can't bring myself to clean it up, and for now we're just cleaning up the mess. Before buying I read in another review that this wheel is bigger. as Ovo wheels that come in different cages. IS NOT IT. I was really hoping for something more and made the purchase based on a review that said it was. I was very disappointed that this was not the case. This wheel has exactly the same inner diameter as the others. It has an outer hem that might make it look a bit larger, but I measured both and they are exactly the same on the inside. Our girl can't run away from here. It's also noisier than other Ovo wheels. For the others, when they started rubbing, a drop of vegetable oil would shut them up. This one has a thicker handle for turning and cannot be untied with a little oil trick. This thicker stem also takes up a little more room in the middle than other Ovo wheels. Then when you add the food of the hamster clicking around as it runs, it gets even louder. Bottom line - I definitely regret not buying this thing, but our hamster is very happy I did.
