Install it properly and it will work!

Bought this walking leg set along with many others. I made it on the third try! Check it out: the weird metal piece on the side is for the screw that tightens your needle (rod? IDK). This is how the paw "goes". As your needle moves up and down, this lever moves the feed dog(?) on the walking foot. I think some people think this part is some kind of guide to your fabric, but it's not. Once the leg is in place, raise it up as well before tightening the screw. Maybe I'm the only one stupid enough to make this mistake, but I did it. It was clear quickly because there was nowhere to put the fabric lol. Once installed, scroll the needle up and down by hand a few times to make sure everything looks right. Some people have mentioned needle breakage due to the needle not being properly aligned with the presser foot. I agree that my needle is a little off center so I'm not sure I want to use anything other than a straight stitch, but again the slow hand looping should (I think) let you know if it's a problem will before you go into overdrive and break the needle. IMPORTANT NOTE! After about 4 feet of quilting, my NEEDLE fell out! Boom! Just fell out! I was like WHAT WHAT? I think what happened is that the part of the walking foot that is on top of the screw that holds the needle loosened it. I'm not sure because I haven't found it loose again after quite a bit of quilting, but better safe than sorry, so now I'm just checking and making sure the screw is still tight. In any case, the sewing foot is great for quilting and has worked flawlessly so far. There are no installation instructions. So if you want visuals, try Youtube.
