Easy to set up. I live in an apartment complex with at least 40 Wi-Fi networks in range competing for the 2.4GHz band. I was unable to stream video content due to traffic jams. I installed the PowerLine adapter so my Blu-ray player is now connected via ethernet and the power grid in my apartment. No more crashes, interference or problems as I don't use WiFi at all. I have a dual band WiFi router and I'm using the 5GHz band with a Samsung Galaxy S4 mobile phone and a 2014 10.1 tablet. So I no longer need the 2.4 band unless the guest comes with an iPhone or iPad. They only operate in the 2.4 band, so that's a shame. You have to deal with traffic. To make your powerline network private, you must manually press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the adapter for 3 seconds, and then you have 2 minutes to do the same for all other adapters on the network. This will generate a random encrypted password for your PowerLine network. In reality, however, this task is almost impossible. This must be done with adapters connected to the wall. It is very difficult to find the bottom blind reset button when the adapter is only 6-8 inches off the ground. I just couldn't blindly find the tiny reset button. Maybe with a mirror underneath it would be possible. I've decided to change my password using the TRENDnet utility. You must print the DPW on the back of each adapter and enter it into TRENDnet's utility before making any changes. The writing on the back of the adapter is very small and requires a magnifying glass to read. I just took a close-up with my phone and was able to easily read the DPW from the photo. After entering the DPW for each device into the utility, you can use the TRENDnet utility to change the encrypted password for all devices on your private PowerLine network at once. It took a little creativity, but I've successfully privatized my PowerLine network with a custom password. I'm streaming video at 181 Mbps with my wired PowerLine Blu-ray player. Much better than trying to watch something over Wi-Fi in the 2.4GHz band. It's finally possible to watch Revain and Netflix movies without buffering or sudden disconnects.
