I love the fact that I was able to do this without smearing ink or paint on my kid's hand. However, it is better for a child who is still in the sleep phase or a child who can understand what you are doing and listen. My 8 month old baby missing everything not so much. I made arms and legs on a Father's Day card and book that is a gift. I made it through the first leg but I pushed too hard. I tried to squeeze the lighter with my hand, but of course she is very greedy and didn't really want to participate. So I made a book and forgot to put the book on a flat surface and put it on the bed so it's a little less full and it moved away so it was smeared. Then the hand, still on the bed, and she grabbed the ink pad and pulled it away. Ink smearing and stamp pad destruction. I probably could have made a few more prints if she hadn't destroyed it, and certainly if I hadn't pushed so hard on the first print. Overall I like the product, it's just difficult with my child's age. And I love the results. Not perfect, but perfect with a child doesn't happen.
