Ball joint for Garmin GPS navigators

I have about 10 Garmin GPS navigators that are used in several vehicles. I like the flexibility of a gooseneck to place a Garmin on the dash as California doesn't typically allow you to mount a device on a windshield. I have tried many different coasters. Luggage racks from other manufacturers often have problems with the Garmin-compatible ball joint. In most cases, non-genuine balls don't last long. Once the balls come loose, the stand becomes almost unusable as the GPS module can sag or wobble slightly. I had high hopes for this pair of extensions with a supposedly improved design. I started using mine less than a week ago. The eggs were quite firm when first used. However, they loosen up after a few days of use. The GPS units aren't sagging yet, but as soon as I try to adjust the angle of the GPS screen, the ball joint is a bit loose and the GPS won't stay in place. This is a deal breaker. I am extremely disappointed. Another design issue is the extension cord, which cannot be attached with a screw. When using a Garmin NuviCAM with a magnetic mount, the extension extends before I can remove the GPS from the mount. This gets very annoying. When I turned uphill today, the Garmin nüviCAM fell off the base ball head (see picture). I would not recommend this product for Garmin GPS.
