This is a great product. It's much faster than any other file transfer method. I first tried using a USB 2.0 flash drive and it took forever. A USB 3.0 flash drive would be faster than USB 2.0, but I don't think it would match the speed of a cable, especially if you're moving a lot of files. When I received the cable I downloaded the software, downloaded it to both computers and connected the cable. Both computers recognized the connection immediately and opened the menu. I wasn't interested in syncing the new computer to the old one, I wanted to get rid of a lot of junk on the old computer and start fresh on the new one. Couldn't find any instructions on how to do this, but after a while I found the drag and drop feature and was able to move files and folders to exactly where I needed them. When dragging and dropping, you have the option to view all your files and folders by enabling the Show Hidden Files feature. Once you have done this, you can transfer any folder or file. As the plug-in points out, you cannot copy installed programs from one computer to another, but you can copy setup or setup files to install on a new computer. This cable and software saves a lot of time. Good product. I had other plug-in products and only one had a problem. They responded immediately and sent a replacement item. Great company, products and customer service and great value for money.
