Arrived quickly in 2 days and today I installed it and mowed the lawn. The starter motor is about 3/8" longer than stock which was easily adjusted by making a small vertical cut in the shield under the starter motor and bending it with pliers. Gear. and it was right. I had to remove quite a bit, including the red engine cover. I didn't have to remove the flywheel, the outer bolt comes out easily but one of the bolts takes some patience to work with the open end of the wrench as it's under the flywheel. You can wiggle the starter and finally the tail pull out bolts. Install a new reversed hard bolt first. Seems to spin faster than I can ever remember and as a result it fires faster. I've fired it about 5 times. The ear is out Plastic and at first I thought it felt softer but the whole starter mechanism seems to run so much smoother maybe it's for the better he, but faster if that makes sense. I just like the new mechanism better. I hope to last another 20 years with this starter, and I could, but the deck won't last that long.
