Bought this typewriter for my husband and small business. We need to print a few checks a month and year-end 1099 tax forms. There is no position indicator to let you know whether to print on the line or where to print. Through trial and error I found that you lower the form until you can barely see the line or white space you need to type and then roll the form back 2 more rolls of paper. I have read the instructions many times and there is no mention of a linear indicator. I would not recommend this typewriter if you need to type on letterhead.
