Well if you own and use even thinner floor standing RPT bulbs you know that OEM bulbs are terribly expensive. My RPT is my secondary but still regularly used TV so I want it to perform decently but I just can't justify the OEM cost. The first time I replaced it I tried an inexpensive lightbulb from Mexico but it just didn't have the brightness so even at 40% the cost it wasn't adequate. This lightbulb is damn good. It's a good picture again and while I could have used a little brighter it's reasonably bright, colors are vibrant and the picture is sharp - it doesn't hold TV technology back. Whether you need a lightbulb now or want to have one on hand just in case, I think this is a worthwhile purchase.
