I added this to an ASRock Q1900-ITX motherboard that sits in a small fanless case and acts as a multimedia interface for the MythTV home theater. I had a TV that I wanted to add MythTV functionality to, but its location would be inconvenient to run an Ethernet cable, so I settled on this wireless module that plugs directly into a small form factor motherboard. The box is running Ubuntu 16.04 and Linux has just been installed on the device. It works without any problems or installing other drivers. This is because the Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3200 uses the 5 GHz band and consistently hits >= 780 Mbps (rate varies slightly as expected and is typically 800 Mbps), which is very close to the maximum of 867 Mbps. s lies. c for 2x2 5 GHz AC connection.
