I really liked the 4 year old Cooler Master X-Slim Ultra Slim Laptop Cooling Pad but the main downside was the inferior USB power cable. Literally a few years later, he began to lose touch. So I decided it was time to get one that works all the time. After a thorough search and some trial and error (returns), I finally found the Carantee Cooling Pad. I need a cooling pad for my HP Envy 15 inch laptop when I use it on the bed to avoid overheating. Although this one looks a bit like some others, it has a few differences that make it a whole lot better than the competition: First, a high-quality twisted/braided USB cable! It even has a handy loop and cord storage on the bottom when not in use . Second, multiple incline levels! It has a short set of legs for slight tilt alone, as well as a longer set of legs that can be used with a shorter set to adjust the angle from 10° to 50° (those are just my estimates). There is a small black plastic plate on the underside that can be removed and inserted into the pad's front edge to prevent the laptop from riding up and down. Fan speed is satisfactory and efficient, but could be a little stronger in my opinion, though which would mean more noise. Note that the cooling effect is better on an inclined surface than on a flat surface. The blue LEDs are very pleasant to the touch and are quite bright even at maximum brightness. On the right are two wheels for controlling fan speed and light brightness. Definitely recommend this as the perfect all round cooling pad among the competition.
