This is a really great device that fills a serious need for those of us who enjoy aging wine to its optimum condition. I can attest to the difficulty of finding a metal strainer fine enough to filter out wine sediment. All I could find was a tea strainer, which is nowhere near good enough. For years I had to wait for my wine to go through coffee filters. But this little star has a really thin stainless steel filter. It does its job quickly and then rinses off easily. The combination with a wine aeration funnel, which can be used with or without a filter, is a design coup. I've bought several of these. They make treasured gifts for my friends and family who are wine lovers.
