
On use I had a 16GB stick and a 2TB external hard drive attached to it, which was then connected to my Mac. Eventually 2 devices got mixed up and the 2TB drive was overwritten with the contents of the 16GB flash drive (Approximately TB of photos were lost. I've never seen a Mac swap devices when the same devices were in separate USB ports. Later, when only the flash drive was plugged in, my Mac kept reporting that the flash drive was unexpectedly disabled. This seems normal for printers and my wireless keyboard, but not for storage devices.
