A broken 10 cent o-ring destroyed my 6K lb F350

My truck sat at a repair shop in Dixon, Illinois more than 350 miles from my home for 6 weeks after it went on the returning from Iowa had lost oil pressure. most agricultural implements. The guys there were good enough, but after I changed the truck's oil and replaced the ICP sensor (I was billed over $1,000), the truck still wouldn't start. I towed it home on a trailer using the only truck I had available that was too small to tow this beefy monster. I let my beast sit on the farm collecting dust for another 6 weeks until I got tired of looking at my oversized paperweight. As much as I love Jeff Bezos, I went online and ordered this o-ring kit. It was well packaged with all the necessary parts. I hooked up my air compressor to my truck's engine and used my stethoscope to check for a suspected oil leak and WHAMO! It's hissing like crazy on the driver's side under the valve cover. I also understood from the location of the noise that this was a hiss from a riser and not a fictitious plug. I broke out my trusty rusty tools and my BFH (Big Friendly Hammer). I removed all necessary parts, removed the top of the riser and found a damaged o-ring. I'm just an old cowboy and goat farmer, not a seasoned mechanic, the repair took about 5 hours from start to finish. I ended up with over 1,000 pounds of oil pressure on takeoff and my favorite diesel, 4X4, eco-friendly, was back in action twice, pulling and pushing crap all over the farm and elsewhere. There are many complaints about the Ford 6.0 engine, but in my opinion it's a great engine. Just don't waste your time and money in a "professional workshop". Give poor Bezos your money, buy his o-rings and fix it yourself. They work great. leave me alone now .Everyone wants to be a cowboy. Until it's time to do some cowboy stuff.
