This is the only thermal printer I own and I bought it for my new little trading card business (Pokemon, YuGiOh!, Magic etc. ) so that I can save money by buying tracking online at a significantly lower price than by post and can optimize the efficiency of label creation. The packaging was really good quality (only mentioned because I literally stopped and thought "wow that's a quality sturdy box and some premium foam") so it reached without damage, it arrived quickly and the Printer itself is fantastic. Installation was easy; it came with a usb a drive which my macbook pro read easily, it installed in about a second and then all i had to do was select it as my printer the first time i tried to print and everything went great smoothly from there. Also included on the disk was a FAQ document on troubleshooting and setup and configuration for use with different deployment platforms, which I found very handy. The kit also included a small packet of thermal labels folded in a fan. A word for the ways that aren't mentioned in the setup guide, as far as I could tell (some of you probably already know this, but as a newbie to thermal printers, it took me a while to figure it out): the first time you For example, when inserting a 4x6 label into the open printer, you need to squeeze the two label guides to tighten them so the label has no room to move to one side or the other. Otherwise it randomly prints a bit off-center and I changed the print size to 90% for a while until I realized I needed to compress/tighten the guides. Now I can print at the normal scale of 100% and the entire label content still comes out on a 4x6 label. It's a fast printer and everything looks big enough to deliver labels - for very small prints it's not quite as sharp as I might expect, but probably 90-95% of the way too sharp (for super small prints it seems being a bit pixelated, but still 100% readable) and I'm just picky enough to notice. When I check the tracking numbers of the orders I sent, they contain information. So it seems like the post office was able to scan all the printed codes so it works well to get the important graphics clear enough. It's also very efficient to print mailing labels from 4x6 sheets if you take the time to create a template in Word (you just have to go to page layout and resize the page to 4x6; it took me forever to do that figure out) and carefully cut them into smaller strips with multiple addresses per sheet. My only gripe is that it's very light, which is probably fine for some people, but it means that since you have to rip the labels, the printer itself actually comes off the table before the label rips. Because of this I wish it was a lot heavier but I solved the problem by planting a rock on the end of the book/paperweight I have on top and now it won't move lol. You just have to find a way to secure/weight it down if you don't want to put your other hand on it every time you rip the label off.
