Build quality seems good but not great. Functionally, the band hook is harder to hook onto the measured objects with one hand than the others I've used because it sits higher in its housing. Because of this, I often have to use this tape measure with two hands to measure something, which takes longer (which adds up to a full day). Additionally, when the band is stretched and attached to the surface, only the front of the case makes contact with the surface and easily topples over on impact. If the body is placed horizontally on the floor, the blade protrudes at an angle. The magnet on the hook is great and handy for picking up screws and nails from the floor. It's strong enough to lift a bunch of keys on a ring and useful for salvaging things which is a nice bonus.
